Typed the Wrong Roblox Username on AvatarFlex? Here's How to Fix It

So you jumped onto AvatarFlex, typed in your Roblox username, and... wait, that's not your character. Wrong person, wrong avatar, maybe even a completely different outfit. Sound familiar?

This is one of the most common hiccups people run into, and it's totally fixable. Give yourself a minute and we'll walk you through exactly what happened and how to get your real account showing up.

Why Does This Happen?

When you visit the Create Your Flex Card page and type in your Roblox username, AvatarFlex saves that name directly on your device. Think of it like the site "remembering" you so you don't have to type your name every single time you come back.

Just to be clear, this only happens on the /myflex page where you actually create your card and link your identity. If you've been using the Profile Viewer to look up other players, that doesn't save anything to your device. Your username only gets remembered when you personally enter it to create your own flex card.

This is stored in something called local storage, basically a small file your browser keeps on your computer or phone, tied specifically to our site. It's not a password, it's not your Roblox login, it's just the username you typed.

Here's the problem: if you typed it wrong the first time (even by one character, like "Amy201020" instead of "Amym201020"), that wrong username is what gets saved. The next time you visit, the site loads that wrong name automatically, pulls up the wrong Roblox character, and suddenly everything looks off.

It's not a bug. The site is doing exactly what it's supposed to do, it just got handed the wrong info to begin with.

How to Fix It (Step by Step)

The fix is simple: you need to clear out that saved username so the site forgets the wrong one and lets you type the right one fresh.

Hey, younger players, please read this first!

The steps below involve going into your browser settings to clear some saved data. Before you start, we strongly recommend doing this together with a parent, older sibling, or someone who knows their way around a computer. Browser settings can affect more than just our site, and having someone knowledgeable guide you through it makes the whole thing safer and faster. Don't tackle this one by yourself!

Option 1: Clear Your Browser's Site Data (Recommended)

This is the most reliable fix.

On Chrome or Edge (PC):

  1. Go to avatarflex.com
  2. Click the lock icon (or the tune icon) in the address bar to the left of the URL
  3. Click "Site settings" or "Cookies and site data"
  4. Click "Clear data" or "Delete"
  5. Refresh the page and you'll be asked to enter your username again
  6. Type it carefully this time and hit go!

On Chrome (Mobile):

  1. Open Chrome and tap the three dots menu (top right)
  2. Go to Settings → Site settings → All sites
  3. Search for "avatarflex" and tap it
  4. Tap "Clear & reset"
  5. Head back to the site and re-enter your correct username

On Safari (iPhone/iPad):

  1. Go to Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data
  2. Search for "avatarflex" and swipe to delete it
  3. Open Safari, visit the site again, and type your real username

Option 2: Use an Incognito / Private Window

If you just want to quickly check that your real username works without messing with settings, open a private/incognito window. That way the site starts totally fresh with no saved data.

  • Chrome / Edge: Ctrl+Shift+N (or Cmd+Shift+N on Mac)
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Cmd+Shift+N

Type your username in the incognito window, confirm it's loading the right character, then go back and clear the regular browser data using Option 1 so your main browser also stays correct going forward.

Option 3: Try a Different Browser

If none of the above feels comfortable, just open a browser you don't normally use (like Firefox if you usually use Chrome, or Edge if you're on Windows). Since that browser has never visited AvatarFlex before, it'll have no saved username and will start clean.

Why Does the Username Even Matter?

Your username on AvatarFlex is what links you to your flex card, your battle votes, and any points or rewards you've earned on the site. The site uses it as your identity, so if the wrong name got saved, it means any activity might be getting credited to a stranger's profile instead of yours.

Once you clear it and re-enter the right username, everything should start loading correctly: your real Roblox avatar, your actual character look, and your correct profile stats.

Still Having Trouble?

If you cleared everything and it's still pulling up the wrong account, double-check the username you're entering against your actual Roblox profile. Roblox usernames are case-insensitive, but spelling matters, and one wrong letter will load a completely different person.

You can verify your exact Roblox username by:

  1. Opening the Roblox app or website
  2. Clicking your profile icon in the top corner
  3. Your username shows right there under your display name

Once you've confirmed the correct spelling, type it exactly into AvatarFlex and you're good to go.
